ABOUT
...of GODS and MEN are four seasoned musicians, guitar, bass, keyboards and drums, with decades of experience coming together creating something intense and powerful. The four come from different genres, but together are a tour de force!
Influences come from Post Punk bands such as The Comsat Angels, The Sound, Wire, Pere Ubu, Spear of Destiny, Theatre of Hate.....but also extend through to Nick Cave and PJ Harvey at their most mellow and poignant.
Mike Grogan, Lead vocals, guitars and songwriter, has played in many bands over the years, notably 'State of Mind'. His passion is Post Punk and his inspirations are Joe Strummer, Adrian Borland (The Sound) and Stephen Fellows (Comsat Angels)....and of course collecting guitars!
Pete Blackler, the keyboard wizard in the band, who is classically trained, has played in numerous 80's new wave/ electronic outfits. Pete brings a cinematic feel to many of the band's material along with a delicacy of touch when the song requires it.
Vern Grech Bassman extraordinaire, is a journeyman musician with prog tendancies but laced with heavy rock basslines and powerful but delicate backing vocals adding to the overall sound of the band.
Gabor Pongracz, is the power in the band. Gabor adds the muscle, drive and a well drilled tightness. He hails from Hungary, and he brings his love of metal bands to 'of Gods and Men' and adds that touch of steel to the sound.
